delicate, intricate and durable surfaces

about /

Surface and material finish has been very important throughout our body of work whether for fine art or functional design. We are credited with having pioneered liquid metal technology as an artistic material in Europe and have invented Tramazite - a new material using liquid metals and resins.

we continue to push material boundaries with explorations blurring hard and soft, with a recent focus on anti-viral properties.

form parameters /

Many of our surfaces can be applied to most architectural forms and features:

Flat surface
Angled return
One directional curve
Compound Curve

We are used to working at very large scale. PLEASE CONTACT BU STUDIO WITH DETAILS OF YOUR SPECIFIC PROJECT TO DISCUSS FEASIBILITY.

testing + accreditation /

WORKING TO THE HIGHEST SAFETY STANDARD IN YACHTING, AVIATION AND PUBLIC BUILDINGS THROUGHOUT THE WORLD, OUR SURFACES HAVE BEEN TESTED TO A NUMBER OF GLOBAL STANDARDS, including:

SOLAS
IMO
Fire Cat 0
Anti-Viral

Many surfaces have passed all of these tests, some specialist surfaces have not. Please see the based upon surface matrix for reference. Where a surface is not marked as having passed, it may not have failed, it just may not have been tested.

PLEASE CONTACT US WITH DETAILED ENQUIRIES SO WE MAY ASSESS INDIVIDUAL CASES.

surface substrates /

Our surfaces can be applied to most material substrates. When creating architectural panelling our preference is to use aluminium honeycomb. for a more value engineered option, we suggest Valchromat. When creating complex forms we often apply onto reinforced resins.

PLEASE CONTACT us WITH DETAILS OF YOUR SPECIFIC PROJECT TO DISCUSS other possibilities.
