in coming together, we are able to take flight
A sculpture to honour the creative collaboration of the many artists and artisans who helped realise one of LA’s grandest residential projects. A geometric shape is allowed to multiply and connect until it creates a larger version of itself and takes flight over the LA skyline.
Re-crafted as a wearable miniature, it was gifted as jewellery to all involved.
Initial studies of geometries that multiply and connect.
Hand moulded maquette realises the geometries potential.
Digitally re-mastered work completes the geometries potential, allowing the bronze sculpture to take flight.
In miniature, the bronze sculpture was re-thought as a jewel, gifted to those involved in the project.

DISCOVER
Understanding clients vision to create a sculpture which would honour all of the designers and artisans who collaborated to create his home.

DEFINE
Paper modelling of a bird like form created from a tessellating shape of itself. Sketching showing the same form as a necklace pendant, to be gifted to all those who worked on the property.

DEVELOP
Complex 3D modelling of the form and structural and atmospheric modelling to achieve the cantilever allowing the sculpture to take flight over LA.
