AN ARCHIVAL LEGACY WORK, honouring A CLIENT’S FATHER’S 60TH BIRTHDAY.
the desk Is layered wIth IntrIcate detaIls that represent the client, whereas InsIde the desk, metal engravIngs tell a more personal story.
each detaIl has been consIdered to say somethIng about the client: subtle etchIngs to the bronze lIp of a drawer presents hIs core values wrItten In japanese, and a pIece of coal from hIs own mIne has been cast In bronze and engraved wIth personal messages.
the desk also contaIns a dIsguIsed safe whIch can only be released by a concealed foot pedal; a hIdden compartment contaInIng more personal, famIly references and an Illusory, mIrrored space.
there is mystery to the desk, as there is the man.
