THE TIMELESS BEAUTY OF THE ARAN ISLANDS, OFF THE WEST COAST OF IRELAND, BECAME THE INSPIRATION. THIS PLACE OF MYTHIC BEAUTY INSPIRED US TO CREATE WORKS THAT CAPTURE NATURE, TRANSCENDING TEMPORALITY TO SILENCE THE CHATTER OF INTERNAL DIALOGUE.

WORKS IN the breath SERIES MAY BE DEVELOPED TO CREATE A UNIQUE PIECE FOR A CLIENT.
To date, these works have been created in proprietary materials owned or developed by Based Upon. They have included permutations of bio-resins, flax, ash and liquid metal. A new outdoor work in development will be carved in stone as it will reside in a forest.
The smallest work in the series has been 1500mm in diameter and the largest over 7m tall.
The studio will consider other sizes on commission.
